I've got LOTS of experience/knowledge re: ideal acoustic guitar set-up - 6/64" action, 45 degree break angle over the saddle etc. Resonator guitars seem to be a completely different kettle of fish. For a start, any sort of decent break angle seems impossible, and even undesirable (for fear of crushing cone!). The biscuit bridge sits on top of a quite delicate cone - hit the bridge even slightly too hard and you'll collapse the cone.... A reso is a little different from a normal acousitic because the action is set by filing string slots, not lowering the whole saddle. Also, the bridge/saddle is not usually compensated - most reso's are badly.

The saddle should not be glued in the t-bridge but it might be a little snug.... (assuming it is flat for slide) then you will have to deepen the slots. Use guaged nut files just as you would for a nut, radius them on the bottom and if you make them very much deeper, you might want to sand the top of the bridge slightly - like a nut you want. I just ordered new bone blanks, half are 6mm thick. I'll just sand it down until it fits in the biscuit slot. I've made saddles and nuts so that isn't the issue. One tool I think is great to buy/own is the StewMac Nut and Saddle vise. It makes cutting new saddles and nuts almost painless. Replace the saddle and bridge. Lift your strings and carefully slide the sanded saddle back into its slot. Then replace the bottom three strings that you removed and retune your guitar. Measure the action again and play your guitar a little bit to see if you like it. You may want to repeat the process and sand down a little more. The break angle over the bridge formed by the strings going to the tail is critical. Too little and you don't have enough downward pressure to "load" the cone. The guitar will buzz and rattle like an old TV. Too much break angle will overload the cone, possibly causing it to deform and/or collapse and making you "not happy".
